Pronounced
"Fung or Fong Schway", Feng Shui means Wind and Water - indicating the
changes of nature, the flow of life force energy that is always present, in and around our
lives and in and around the places of our lives.
Have you ever been somewhere, in a building, or room
and realized that you felt quite at home and at ease; or that it felt uncomfortable, or
later "felt" that it was a downer kind of place? That is the energy, the Chi,
of that room-building. It is blocked, and stilted; it manifests itself as a negative
effect in our lives. Or as an uplifting site, and is flowing, open and abundant to life
force energy.
Feng Shui is the art of balance, placement and arrangement to effect a positive flow
of Chi energy in our physical environments - the local things - land, rooms, homes,
offices and buildings of our lives. |

The
5 Elements are an ancient way of accessing and dividing up the areas of NATURE that
influence and control our lives; the strengths, the inner relationships and the
properties. They are the properties of nature, seen through nature's life force energies
- as these properties
will be manifest --- Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, Water --- with the properties and
traits of sensing, taste, hot and cold, dark and light, seasons, origins and more.
Understanding
the 5 Elements gives us a way to participate in and know life's variables and vagaries.
These elements are useful in Feng Shui to know and keep in mind when accessing one's life
stations and positions to encourage Chi flow and success. |
