The Guidebook
and Information Manual
of 12 Step Program Recovery |
|
This book is truly
a hands on, do it yourself manual, that walks one right through all of the
tough times, and with great ease and confidense. |
|
The Recovery
Handbook (320 pages) is a most
remarkable book. It is used by treatment centers, sponsors, counselors and
anyone wishing recovery. This is one of the best kept secrets in 12 Step
Programs. |
 |
|
If you know of
someone who wants help, then this is the book for them. It is all from the
viewpoint of recovering people, those who went before. |
|
The "In-between time".
This book fills that critical bridge between treatment and programs and
all of the things not covered by either. This book begins where treatment and programs
leave off. |
|
The Big
Three: |
|
The largest
chapters in The Recovery Handbook
are the 3 most critical issues in recovery. The AA big book says that
resentments are the number one offender (to recovery). And that means
feelings - which are not dealt with by treatment nor much in meetings.
|
|
The greatest cause
of relapse is relationships, and again, this is not a subject for
meetings nor treatment. But here, relationships are the 2nd largest chapter. |
|
As the big book
says, the only hope for recovery is a profound spiritual experience.
Nowhere in treatment or meetings does one really learn about a Higher Power.
Here one can deal with issues of God, a Higher Power, and move on to have a
profound spiritual experience. |
|
The
Steps: |
|
How to really work
the Steps. The big book says, "if you want what we have, then do what we
did, ... and here are the suggested steps we took". Steps came before the
big books, and apart meetings, so if one wishes recovery, it is a must to
work the steps. The largest section of this book walks one right through how
to do each step, and how really easy it is to work the steps. And how not to
do them.
